Update: Bardon Bitcoin ATM ready to go

Bardon cafe Kobblers has successfully installed one of the country’s first Bitcoin ATM’s after months of waiting.

The Lamassu ATM arrived early in July and was installed later in the month after software developer Paul O’Keeffe conducted repairs. The installation comes during a massive expansion of Bitcoin ATMs in Australia, with machines planned for shopping centres across Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane

“It’s exciting,” says Kobblers owner Scott Duncan, who hopes the machine will encourage Bitcoin usage. “It’s easy to use, just three steps: enter QR code, insert money and hit send.”

Duncan currently offers a ten-percent discount to Bitcoin purchases, and operates the machine at the current exchange rate.
